This morning, it’s all about this blog for me. We’ve been wanting to do a company blog for a while now, so I’m very excited about working on it. In case you didn’t know, I’m BlogQueenoftheUniverse.com. Yes, it’s true. I was elected by a committee of 1 — me. 🙂
That really came from my friend, Carrie Wilkerson, the Barefoot Executive. We were goofing at a conference and she asked me a blog question, and I said, “Well, since I’m Blog Queen of the Universe… here’s what you do!” And so, the domain was born. We laughed about that for a while.
But I really do love WordPress and everything about it, and over the years, I’ve become expert on it. The platform is user-friendly, even the newest newbie can figure out how to blog, and it’s so danged customizable. Plus, you can be generating leads every single day, just by writing in a blog and having an optin form in a widget or in a pop up or pop under. I find that my lightbox pop-up on that site converts much better than the static form, so that’s something you can test.
And that’s what’s on top of my mind today… generating leads. What’s on top of yours?
Think of 5 ways that you can improve the way you’re generating leads today. Here are a few to get you started:
- Add a pop-up, pop-under, or lightbox optin form to your blog.
- Add an optin box to your fan page at Facebook
- Add an optin box to your profile at MySpace
- Do an ad swap with someone who has a similar-sized list
- Make an instructional video, and send people to your squeeze page from You Tube. (Be sure to add the URL to your description first.)
Generating leads doesn’t have to be hard. Little tweaks every day can make your system stronger. And remember, the more vines you throw out there, the more likely it is that you’ll be successful. Everything you do online has an impact. Be sure that it has the right impact and that you’re always generating leads.
